Hi I am looking for some advice for my son and I know this is the best place to come.
He entered into a DMP 4 years ago with a company who charges him ( yeah we know about payplan etc but they told him he didn't have enough debt!)
Now he is in a situation where he could clear the existing debt but when talking to the company they explained that he could do that and they could get full and final settlement figures for him but they would charge 17.5 % on top for sorting it for him. Now I appreciate he needs to clear his debts and he is endeavouring to do that but could he contact his creditors himself and bypass his DMP company? I do not wish to appear flippant but he is just a little bit tired of paying the DMP company 30%. Thankyou.

Hi
That is monsterous - I thought most DMP providers took -15-20 percent.
he needs to find his paperwork, and give the required notice to this batch of sharks.
Then someone (not him) write and offer full and finals.
However, it might be a good idea for him to post his SOA here so we can see what is reasonable? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thank you for your speedy response. Why do you someone not him?0
