Claim back car tax

My car died last week. I only taxed it in January so have 11 months left. How do I claim the tax back? Do I just go to the local PO?

Go to local PO and get a form. Send form and tax disc in and ensure that it is post marked prior to the end of the month to ensure maximum return. If you send it on 01/03/2007 then you will lose all of March's portion.

You can download the form from the DVLA website. I will try to find it for you. You need to have it posted by the end of the month to claim back for March onwards, otherwise you will lose another month.


Edit: Its form V14 but I can't get a link to it. Just go to the DVLA site and put it in the search box.

V14 is the one you need ...... you can down load it too from DVLA.
