I'm not an expert on car tax, but seeing as it is a van, wouldn't the tax be £210 per annum?

Hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about will come along soon....
  • Is it going to be run as company vehicle or are you buying it privately?

    What goes around comes around.
Last time the UK was mired in economic chaos, this became a cross between fashion and survival, on the roads of the UK and not many of them carried a payroll - though they did have recreational possibilities. ;)

Now the this is coming to the Geneva motor show:

Mind you 40 years ago nobody got very worried about "occasional" removable seats in the back.

Im a sole trader so would but it through the business, the point bing im trying to save costs on tax being a van rather than a car - however long term I may swap back to a car but someone in the motoring forum has said that from van to car my no claims would be lost and not transferable, can anyone confirm this?
  • I don't know how it works these days, but I used to be responsible for a team of service engineers.
Sooner or later they would get their own personal transport as well as the (then) tax free van, which could be taken home overnight.

I would regularly churn out letters giving "Mr Engineer's" length of service, annual mileage and hopefully accident free record. The objective being to get a lower premium.

Not sure it helps that much these days as some insurance companies actually try to avoid "van man".
