over draft and poor credit

Hi,

I need credit card to pay off my current account overdraft the only problem is is that i have an average credit rating due to changing address and an ex-partner abusing the joint account:mad:,i have been refused credit cards in the past.

Does anyone know of a credit card that can take bank overdraft transfers for people with an average credit rating ?

Cheers

Anthony

  • Hi Anthony, wecome to the boards.

TBH consolidation rarely works and people end up in more debt.

Unfortunately, if you've already been refused cards, then it's unlikely you'll be approved now and "bad rating" cards tend to have astronomical interest rates - many also don't do transfers from ODs.

Much better to tackle the OD head on and pay it off - post up a Statement of Affairs (sticky thread at the top) and I'm sure we'll be able to find some savings to help this to be cleared quicker.

  • Agree, I think you will be "out of the frying pan into the fire" if you try using a credit card to attack your debts. You need to look for another way if you want to resolve the situation or you will face even bigger problems even in the event you manage to get a card.
