PS if you ask for discount on top of sale prices, you will find that if you are willing to agree to deal there and then - that you will get extra discount. I personally know a few managers in the West Yorkshire area who would be able to sort something out.
  • I rang 2 different stores today and asked them if the price went down thurs would they honour it they said yes if it hadnt been delivered both stores said that the price would not go down and this is the cheapest it wil be

but cant tell me what the next offer is .
Last month they knew 2 days before as he quoted me for this .

Well I went into store this evening orginal quote for bedroom was £498 .
I change 2 units to which came to £520 something ( too late in the evening)
    I refused to pay delivery
when she came back and said £498 best price with 3yrs free insurance worth £80 apparently had it for the bathroom and claimed on it no quibble for a replacement so a good thing to have as i overload my drawers!!!!!!

I never do this but the store was empty at 5.30pm and I was the only one in there so I took advantage by asking

" is that your best price as I know you can do me a back pocket deal £5% isnt is ?" ( read this on an earlier post thanks for the tip ) bit my lip as I said it !!!
She smilled and said ok then £452!!! then produced my £100 mr t voucher.

    Its worth a try tomorrow.

Just been in to order my stuff. Unfortunately didn't get a very helpful salesman. He grumbled about dropping the delivery charge, wouldn't offer another 5% (even when I mentioned it) and insisted on a 25% non-refundable deposit on my debit card. Since my Tesco vouchers hadn't turned up I felt that I didn't have much choice.

Seems like a lot is down to the salesman you get and I wasn't as lucky as some.
Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.

Just seen a tv advert which says MFI sale extended for another 5 days with 20% off (I think that was it anyway - half asleep at the time).

  • Hi,

I ordered my bathroom and washroom suites on the 19th Jan when the "last sale" finished.
I paid my deposit and have been waiting for the clubcard vouchers to come since.
They ring me regularly to ask when I'm going to pay the balance and tell me my delivery date will be delayed.

****HOWEVER, 2 days ago, they left a message on the answerphone saying I couldn't have the bathroom suite now as it is out of stock, and that I should ring them to discuss my options. I haven't doen this yet, as without my vouchers, my options are still limited.(they don't know I'm paying this way)

My question is, can they sell something that has had a deposit paid on it?
I hope they will be offering me another suite, but maybe by the time my vouchers, come , it may be back in stock **************************
    Thanks
    Sam

Just checked the MFI website... it says "sale extended until 7/3/07".

Given that I only ordered yesterday, I wonder if I can cancel my order and then re-order paying in full with my vouchers.

Yes BigAde, you can, as there is a 30 day cooling off period.
    Just go for it!!

Thanks betheebee! Nice to know that... my vouchers have turned up now, so may give this a try. Only thing though is that the guy I ordered from got very funny when I said I'd pay the balance with Tesco vouchers and went on to say that if he'd known that he wouldn't have give me free delivery.

Looks like I may have to make the choice between paying a cash deposit with no delivery charge or paying in full by vouchers and having to pay £20 for delivery. Not sure now...
