I think you're arguing semantics, but in the interest of not derailing this thread I'll concede the point

Seen as this has got somewhat pedantic already I might just add that "return on investment" is not appropriate either. It implies that your investment will have value at the end of the term. Some installers have had their hands slapped by the ASA for using that term in this context.
Maybe return on capital expenditure could work. Utterly pointless I know, we all know what you mean.0
