    Unless all your credit card debt is with the same provider as the loans the new loan affordability will be assessed on you ending up with £18k of debt in total and whether you can afford it.

    You know you don't intend to have that much, but the loan lender will not. You might decide to use the extra £8k that you want them to put in your bank for a new car for all they know.
