Amazon account 'on hold'

Had to share this to see if anyone else had this issue.
So a few days ago I go to log into my Amazon account to buy a couple of blu rays, added them to basket and entered login info and told that the username and/or password details are incorrect. Double checked them and tried again, same issue. And again, same issue. Reset password, same again.
Rang them up (via my Amazon account and their callback facility) and my account is 'on hold'. "What does this mean" I ask having used Amazon for buying and selling for many years and having never heard of this one. "We could not say for sure" was the answer.
The best part is this not a selling account or anything to do with that side of it but a buyiog account that is purely for buying with.
Its not an IP issue/ mac address etc. as firstly none of my accounts have ever been closed (in this country anyway) and secondly I buy from an IP address where I would have no reason to log into a seller account.
So has anyone heard of this recently? Search on the net gives many examples of it with no exact answer so wondered if it was a recent bug.

What percentage of items have you returned?
What percentage of orders have been 'lost' in the post?
I've read of people being suspended for reasons such as returning a lot of orders under distance selling regulations, as they are clearly not a profitable customer0 -

zero and zero. Always only buy directly from Amazon and have prime account so next day delivery (or 2 days in some cases)
Have always had prime account (since it was launched) One bit I didnt mention if anyone is interested, they havent just sacked me off by saying "dont know the reason", I confirmed one of my order numbers and email address etc. and iot has been passed onto some invisible team as a confirmation it is my account.
Could be a some git attempting to log in but poor form from Amazon to not even inform me. Ironically I was needing to place quite a big order tonight so was hoping this was sorted by now but will have to go elsewhere. Not that they give 2 hoots. They're too big for their own good, its ruining them.0 -
One more thing I didnt mention (I would forget my head.....) is for many people it appears to be down to a payment issue so if a payment is deemed fraudelent this could happen but I havent ordered anything since xmas and that came with no issues. Have always used my own card etc. These 2 blu rays I wanted were only in the basket and I couldnt log in so didnt even reach the checkout page so its not that.0
