Wait and do nothing for now (in terms of talking to them or paying anyone). Have a read about statute barred debts and once you are certain its statute barred (presumably in April sometime) if they write to you to chase for the debt write back using a statute barred template.

Don't phone HFO/Roxburghe. ... If they've not contacted you then there is nothing to respond to yet. .. you could send them the 'hybrid' letter in this thread in, say, April.
Yes, do as advised and don't rock the boat till April...

    Hello..

Yesterday I sent this email to Roxburghe and I clearly added my name to the bottom of the email...

Tixy and I said the same thing as FA. I'm not sure what you were trying to do but you are now probably 'on their radar' and the debt is not yet statute barred.
  • What were you thinking of, Kylieboy? NEVER EVER CONTACT A DCA!!!! Golden Rule. Roxburghe are, luckily for you, an utter shambles. Now don't you dare write again, just ignore them!

Roxburghe have no apparatus to take people to court. All they do is threaten. SIT TIGHT until it definitely goes statute barred.

    >> Does this not show that they have no idea who this debt is for or who I am?? I don't have the most common of names!

No. As you are happy to correspond they are probably trying to get you to acknowledge that it is your account.
  • And if I were you I would remove all details from your last post, K.B., in fact pretty much scrub it out. Word is that the manager there looks through the forums from time to time.
