No they can't charge it but it won't stop them from trying. You will need to speak to the fines officer at the court and set up a new direct debit of £5 a week.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Did you let him into your property? Has he ever been into your property in the past?

    Who is the bailiff firm?

next time do not admit to needing one...they can not do a thing if you refuse to speak to them..just shut the door..there is no such thing as a detector van
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    HI

Court fines are a different matter to a lot of other debts.

Please ring National DebtLine and get advice because they can wrack up a lot more fees.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • That sounds an extremely stiff fine for someone on benefits, did you fill in your means form properly?

Bailiffs are being instructed more by criminal courts now, but they are relatively easy to avoid if you are careful. Never, ever, allow him into the property no matter what excuses he makes (need to use toilet/ need to phone office/don't want neighbours to hear are common) keep all doors and windows locked and don't open the door to him, I take it you have no car? They won't keep calling and will return the warrant to the Court, minus their robbing charges.

You need to make an application to pay by instalments again. I suggest you see a solicitor, you should be able to get a free consultation if on benefits.

If its a court fine, you may get an arrest warrant .
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

you should have received a further steps notice from the court before it was passed over to the bailiffs

there have been a lot of posts over on CAG about bailiffs turning up and the court haven't sent out a further steps notice first
I am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

If you are in any doubt please seek legal/expert advice help

I've learned today that the court should have sent me a FURTHER STEPS NOTICE i've never received one if i had i would have dealt with it i've also spent an age on the phone to the court trying to speak to a human but cant get past machine that says "please hold to speak a an advisor" and then phone is cut off.
