Paid monthly in Arrears??????

Hi Guys,

need some more advice please, i am leaving my current job and just trying to figure out when my last pay would be,

I get paid monthly on the 28th of every month and it says i get paid in arrears....

Now i leave on Sat 17th March.

I get paid this coming tues, i take it ill get paid on 28th March as well, will that be my final pay or would there be something the month after?

It normally means you get paid on the 28th of march for March's work in all the roles I've done which have claimed to be "monthly in arrears".

The best answer is to go ask HR and they will tell you if there will be any delays in the final pay packet.

Contact HR they should confirm when your final salary will be paid.

When you started, did you work for more than a month before you were paid? If not, your 28th February pay will be for the month of February and therefore your pay up to 17 March (and any adjustment in respect of holidays) will be paid no later than 28 March - possibly earlier if the company hands over a P45 when you actually leave or within a couple of days of that.

HR or Payroll is your best place to check.

Normally if you are paid in arrears then on the 28th of the month you are paid for the preceding 28 days plus the last couple of days of that month. So on the 28th of Feb this year you'd be paid for the complete month of February including the 29th.

If you are going to be leaving mid month then you will receive a final part month payment in that month. Personally I have only ever known that payment to happen on the normal pay day but in theory it could be done beforehand. So I'd expect you to have a March payment on the 28th March that pays you up to the last day you worked.
