Hi,
I'm looking for a Apple Mac laptop to replace my slightly ageing PC. Anyone know where I can get cheap deals for the MAC or Pro?
Thanks

You can check out their refurbished ones on their site http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=E677EA3F&nclm=Certified
They'll give discount to students on new ones but not refurbished. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
i got my mac from the refurb site and its fab well worth it! It didnt even look opened let alone used, and came with the same guarantee as full price ones did!

Yeah if you know any teachers or students you'll save loads buying through them - I'm sure it used to be about a 1/3 off the retail price!!!0 -
Hi,
I just got a macbook from the Apple Store for Education. You have to work in education or have a child in full-time higher education.
BUT...I suspect they don't check too carefully. You have to put in the name of the educational establishment and its postcode, which is easy enough to google. You get a 5% discount, which is better than most places as it's really hard to find a discount on new, current models.
The other big plus is you're buying direct and get really quite good customer care. My laptop was delivered free in less than 48 hours.

They give bigger educational discounts if you ring to place your order rather than ordering via their web site.
A friend of mine has just bought a new MacBook pro and they gave him 15% discount off the laptop plus a 3 year AppleCare warranty for £50 (usually £279).0 -
Dixons have reconditioned Macbook Pro's at a good price.

Wow, they must have cut back on the educational discount rate in the last few years, still great machines and worth the extra in my book.0 -
