Get money back from pension?

Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I've had a Standard Life pension for about 12 years but it's been dormant for about 10 years. So all in all I've paid in about £1400 over a 2 year duration whilst serving my apprenticeship at my first job.
I now have a separate one with my current employers which is quite healthy at the moment.
My question is, could I cash back that Standard Life pension? I know I'll have to maybe pay tax but I could do with it for my up and coming wedding?
This might sound like a stupid question to the people in the know but a clarification would be very helpful.
Thanks.

No, and if you look at the top of the pension page there is a thread about it "Can I Cash in My Pension?"
Having said that, there are things you can do with it, from leave it, to transfer it into your current pension or even into a SIPP where you can choose what it is invested in and add new money. Lots of things you can do, but since you left a while ago you cant get the cash out to spend.
Sometimes, if you have worked less than 2 years at the time of leaving you can get out the funds, but ony the ones you put in, and not the employers or the tax. Which means you could see as little as 250 out of every 1000 in a fund so really makes no sense to do if youc an transfer it at full value.0 -
Ok thanks for the reply.
I will look to transfer this fund into my current pension then.
Thanks for your help.0
