Just a side point, given the footprint already being there for Halifax would it not make sense to see if they would accept you at 85%?

Depends on whether your broker has an actual BDM who they can speak with, although they will have visiblity of the likeliness of this before amending the full application - just an idea?
I thought of that too. Wouldn't the system offer the alternative lending proposal if the score was high enough for that to be a possibility or does that only happen for AIPs?

Not sure it does on declines (credit score)

I think (and not sure) that it only offers the alternatives if affordability or term is the issue..

Happy to be corrected though as not sure any of us use Halifax as much as we used too...

If it was my case, I'd have a go. It's not going to do another credit check as it's for a lower amount.

Agreed - especially as the broker in the thread gave visibility to; Halifax are one of the more flexible lenders (certainly traditional high street ones) so would not be worth another external credit search to an Abbey/RBS/Nationwide etc. as that would be naive.

It may be worth noting which bank you use for your core bank account?

    Apologies if you mentioned...

Hi i use natwest for my bank account.

After speaking to my wife last night ive decided to sell my car and buy a cheaper one (i own it outright no hp etc..) so we can go up to a 20% Deposit, surely there must be someone to take us on?

Also out if interest i looked at my credit file yesterday with checkmyfile.com and refreshed it for this month and myseteriously the CCJ i had which was showing last month is now no longer visible?? I got it in dec 2007...so it should be on there until Dec 2013?

    Thanks

Its hard without seeing all of your fact find, but I would think this would bring you success. See other post though as I would expect your broker to try Halifax first.

I only ever get people to check with 3 agencies and not a middle company for credit ratings so would suggest you use Experian, Equifax and I forget the other one - someone will correct me I am sure...

    Good luck
