Don't believe a word Link Financial tell you!
I posted a while back about dealings with a company called Link Financial who were trying to collect on an outstanding loan which wasn't mine.
After being continually harrassed on the phone by them, and them calling my parents (and identifying themselves) to try and find me after post was returned to sender since I wasn't at the address they had (my parent's address) I ended up changing my mobile number - best £15 I spent - and I haven't heard from them since before Xmas.
Anyhoo, I got a copy of my credit report, since the Link operative was very abusive, calling me a liar and saying 'well, you must have seen my credit report'.
Surprise, surprise..... the defaulted loan which is supposed to be mine isn't on my credit report. At all. Not even as an address link.
So basically, I have concluded that Link are a bunch of chancers and liars who will bully, harass and try to con you into giving them money. Thank heaven's they can no longer contact me.
I'm sharing this because I want to add to the advice that many people give here, which is 'don't even speak to them' but also to say 'check your credit report to see if it's even yours'.
Now.... who can I claim compo from for all of the 'mental anguish' this has caused me because they made a mistake/flat out tried to extort money from me?! (and here endeth the sarcasm)

Well the obvious answer to your last question is, Link Financial.
Of course you will have to give them a number/address where they can contact you.

Call one of those 'No win, No fee' lawyer companies and see if they'll take on your 'compo' claim. They seem to like taking on hopeless cases!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". Lol, it was meant to be sarcasm. But mainly another helpful point if people are being wrongly harassed by these charlatans to get their credit report and tell Link where to shove it!0
