Suit for OH

Options
Marks and Spencer had a 25% off mens' suits over £150 deal that finished at midnight and I spotted a beautiful LanficioCerruti 1881 wool fabric Collezione suit but of course husband's size was sold out.

I need to nab him a suit PDQ for possible interview. In principle I'm not averse to going buying something really good from a charity shop and getting it drycleaned but I won't eBay.

It has to be plain navy, black or charcoal, single breasted 40 " chest regular fit with shorter sleeves preferably and 32" waist 31" inside leg trousers. 100% pure new wool. Nothing too waisted or trendy.

Any ideas please ?

Ther's a navy - well "indigo" - double-breated at 40% off on the new M&S Outlet site mentioned in another thread. Free delivery over £30 but didn't look to see what their retunrs policy is.

What about M&S on line ordering..?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I was looking at marksandspencer.com but they didn't have his size :( Didn't know there was a website for the outlet will have a search.

I looked at John Lewis, Harrods, Littlewoods, Debenhams and House of Fraser websites. I found suits in his size in hopsack and birdseye finishes which he wouldn't wear and a vastly reduced New & Lingwood in grey (OK) with purple and brown pinstripes (eww).

    Still looking..

Had a meander around the Greenwoods site and will go back to look at shirts on sale, but none of the suits I looked at were 100% pure new wool and that's important. If going for a really good job you have to feel confident to do your best at the interview and for the other people to accept you, you have to look like you fit in. Whether it's fair or not 94% of a decision is made on first impressions.

UPDATE Found a navy pure new wool suit at T M Lewin reduced from £500 to £199.20 with free trouser hemming, free suit bag and free delivery :) Have bookmarked the M&S outlet too

    Thanks for the help

I bought a suit for my daughter's wedding from Brook Tavener and was very pleased with it.

Unfortunately your hubby is limiting his options with his conservative taste but they do have a couple of grey ones in the sale here. The "Walton" looks promising.

I got the blue "Dawlish" (£300) with 50% off + a free shirt, but it looks like that offer has finished now.

I wouldn't say that OH is conservative, he wears a black and blue striped Paul Smith for example and his silk ties can be pretty lurid plus he's massively into striped shirts. Mostly his suits are black or grey so navy is a new departure and will go well with his navy covert coat and more than 50% off is a good deal.

I forgot about Brook Taverner. I have bought from them in the past. I'd never pay their "original" price but they are always having sales plus you can get high cashback rate frome the referral sites. Free returns but you usually pay for initial delivery.

Update .. OH's suit arrived by courier today and contained jacket and suit hanger, suit bag and a £40 voucher off a case of wine at Virgin Wines.

£500 pure new wool suit reduced to 199.20 with free trouser hemming, hangers, suit bag, courier delivery and the voucher.. pretty good as bargains go.

As for the suit, me watching the TM Lewin How To video before measuring AND making him try on best fitting existing jacket and trousers and measuring those too to work out size, paid off.

It's his best fitting suit now and OH is H.A.P.P.Y

Now all he needs is a haircut and some moisturiser..
