Battery for Hotwheels remote control car

I am looking for a replacement battery for my son's hotwheels car. The original is a
Tyco 9.6v NiCd 1x8 aa (LR6) 700mAh battery and I can't find one anywhere.
Hotwheels say they have not sold these batteries in the last 5 years so don't know where to look really.
Any ideas please?
