Ive just had a phone call from a DCA regarding an outstanding debt.
The last payment on the account was in 2006 and ive never had any contact with the DCA regsrding this, i moved house etc......
Im paying my other debts off and i advised the (slightly rude) gentleman on the phone this was statute barred and he said it wasnt because the default was issued in august 2007 even though no payments have been made since the previous year.
Can someone let me know the correct process for this is so i can deal with thid in the correct way.
Ive asked for a stsrement to be supplied and the gentleman would give me no timescale for this to be supplied advising when i get it you will get it.
Im sure ststute barred is from time of last payment since 7 or 8 months seems a long time before a default notice would be supplied? Almost delaying the procrss for their own gain?
