HI everyone,
Been buying wine in Lidl recently and the few bottles I've tried have been surprisingly good, with one or two exceptions.
What have people found to be good ???
I have found their red wine box to be not bad. What about their two whites has anyone tried them ??? (Aussie and a spanish)
Are there any rewview websites with them reviewed so I Cna check the quality without buying a wrong-un ..?
My recommendations
Cimarosa Label :-
Aus Shiraz
Chilean Cab Sauv.
(Spanish ?)Pedro Ximenez
South African Pintoage
Wine Box:-
SOuth african Cab Suav & Pinotage @ £13.99 for 3L.

Off topic, but similar, Aldi do a Cote du Rhone for £3.57. It's really nice. The only wine we buy these days!0

The cimarosa cab sav is the one we stick with but last week I noticed it's gone up to 3.99 a bottle. I've had one of their whites, think it was a Pinot, which was ok. The Aldi 2.99 merlot is surprisingly good! Also the Aldi Toscana Rosso (decanter silver medal winner).
Happy drinking!:beer:Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
SPC 13 #51
Feb Grocery Challenge £4.68/£2000 -
Try the following as well:
2004 Grand Reserva Baturrica Tarragona - Lidl - not sure what the current price is but was around £4.99.
Toro Loco Tempranillo - Aldi - £3.49
Budavar Pinot Grigio - Aldi - £3.79. Pinot Grigio is very popular though not to everyone’s liking.
Bushland Australian Reserve Shiraz - Aldi - £3.99
Cambala Chenin Blanc - Aldi - not sure if they still sell this though was about £3.49
&
Freeman’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc - Aldi - £5.49
Not sure if this will help as well:

Any Rose wines at Aldis or Lidls that can be recommended?

Have been buying it regularly for last couple of years.

Thanks Denise - will give it a try!0

Rose made with either Zinfandel or Grenache veriaties can be a bit sweet for some, if they're not for you then try the following:
Toro Loco Rose - Aldi - £3.49 (used to be called Vina Decana Rosada (Why can't you post stress marks/acute accents on MSE!!))
Apparently rose from France and Spain are a good bet with regards to backbone and dryness, though it also depends on your preference.0 -
Thanks Lugh_Chronain - I like a sweetish wine so tracked down the Lidl Zinfandel rose - delicious! And it's on offer for £3.99. Cheers!0
