O2 Deny posting on my Credit Report!!

1. Opened a Lloyds TSB Current account two and a half years' ago, which came with 'free' ID Aware monitoring.
2. Some time later I noticed a 'linked' address was being confirmed by Lloyds TSB even though it was and never has been in any way linked to me.
3 Last year I asked Lloyds (ID aware) to remove the information, but by then it was being 'confirmed' by O2 as being linked by then from 2007 to lattest date which was December 2011.
4. Back to ID aware who suggested I approach O2 to remove this information as although they (Lloyds) had removed it previously, O2 had put it back on a month later!.
5. Went to O2 and their reply is:
I can confirm (as per the chats etc with O2) that we do not load or have loaded a linked address for you. We only load data to three credit reference agencies which are Equifax, Call Credit and Experian. We do not load directly to, or have any agreements with ID Aware. Experian do however load to ID Aware so you will need to contact them directly or obtain a copy of your Experian credit report.
The Id aware clearly shows O2 as being the provided and confirmer (if there is such a word) of this incorrect information so why should I now have to go to the expense of getting a Credit File from the 3 other Agencies?
Any advice would be greatly received .
Below is the edited version of what appears, the first shows my correct address from 2007 to present (even though I have actually lived there for 23 years)!
The second shows another address of which I have no knowledge.
If there are any other addresses linked to your name, such as second properties, previous and forwarding addresses, they are listed below. Providing they are all legitimate addresses, they should not have an impact on your Credit Rating. It's worth bearing in mind, however, that the length of time you've lived at the same address can also affect your Credit Rating.

Can't you send them a letter/print out which shows this?Faced up to my debt Jan 2012.0

Hi, yes I already did that, prior to their reply and that is the reply they sent!!
It is there is black and white for them to see, but they are still denying it and say there is nothing they can do!!0 -

To me, that seems like a pretty straightforward piece of information and advice
I would, at least for the time being, concentrate my efforts on contacting Experian. You probably don't need to buy a credit report since you already know about the entry which you need to challenge - just write to Experian instead of writing to O20 -
Yes, up to a point, but they (o2) must know from their records where this information came from and if they did indeed upload to Experian. Because if, as I read it they are saying it probably came from Experian, then surely they are obliged to remove it from Experian (and, I assume Experian will then remove from ID aware if they did upload?). It reads to me that they are saying they do not have the information required to back up this entry? After all, Experian will expect me to contact O2 as the providers of the information to get them to remove it?0

I guess that O2 were the 'original source' of the information, but it was not them who loaded it onto IDaware
It's probably a bit of a daisy-chain - do O2 accept that the information is incorrect? If so, then maybe they have to tell Experian before Experian can tell IDaware
99% of the time, these complicated computerised systems work OK, but when they don't, it is a nightmare trying to get mistakes corrected0 -

What is the purpose of ID aware? Are they a credit reference agency, or are they part of LloydsTSB? Does it actually matter what ID aware say or think? Check with Experian etc to see if they have any adverse stuff on your history0
-
ID Aware are, to my knowledge part of the Lloyds group, and, as such Lloyds use them to 'check up on' its' customers. They recently reduced my credit limit on my Lloyds credit card and referred me to ID Aware. As this 'o2' information is incorrect and is the only 'adverse' information on my ID Aware File I am assuming this is the reason for them reducing my credit limit, so, up to a point it does matter what is on their Report.
I have e-mailed Experian, Equifax and Call Credit as well as replied to O2 to confirm that although they did not 'upload' this information to ID Aware, they are aware of uploading it to 'someone'!
As you say, a nightmare to sort out!0 -

Third party monitoring. These things can be half useful if you get them for free, but certainly wouldn't pay.
Plus as the OP has found the extra layer of companies multiplies the chances of a **** up when reporting data.neverbefore2011 wrote: »Are they a credit reference agency, or are they part of LloydsTSB?
No, they just regurgitate what the real credit reference agencies tell them.neverbefore2011 wrote: »Does it actually matter what ID aware say or think?
Nope. If the info is correct with the real CRAs, then any error on IDA has no real impact on you apart from just the annoyance value.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

O2 have just confirmed by e-mail that the posted information has NOT been supplied to ANYONE and it is not carried on their files for me! They confirm they have now contacted Call Credit informing them of such!
I guess although this information may be just 'an annoyance' on ID Aware, someone has it and it may be causing harm elsewhere!
So, it is important that I find out who, and get it removed, but just who, if not O2 has posted this, and is it a potential 'fraud' threat?0
