Hi all

I'm trying to wash my hair less as it falls out a lot when I do. :o:(

I'm hoping to find a good dry shampoo to perk it up in between, I have tried the Batiste Tropical one which was "ok" and am currently using the Boots Expert one which I'm not impressed with at all.

My hair is Brown, wavy and shoulder length, one of the problems is that they usually recommend spraying / massaging it in then "combing out" - but I can't comb it out as it would make my hair look awful and probably pull even more out! So I need something to just spray it rub in and hopefully it works and livens my hair up and makes it look less greasy!

Any advice / recommendations appreciated! :)

Thanks!

I have hair similar to yours and I prefer Superdrug own brand in brunette, it gives less volume than batiste and seems to be less white and powdery looking but it still does the job, I dont brush my hair either except when I wash it about once a week or every 10 days when its wet and I use a wide tooth comb and a lot of conditioner, loads comes out when I do this but if yours is coming out a lot at other times maybe you could just get it checked with the doc just to make sure:) My top tip with dry shampoo and no brushing is to spray it in the night before and sleep with it, no need to brush in the morning and no white bits - good luck:)

  • I'd second the Superdrug one.

    Hi,

I've tried loads of different dry shampoos and the best one I've found by far is the Toni & Guy one. It's a bit dearer than Batiste (I think it's about £6 or £7) but it's often on 3 for 3 in Boots. I find it works really well without leaving powdery residue, it smells nice and there is no need to brush it out.

    Thanks for your replies.

@glowgirl Thanks, I have had tests but no apparent cause for my hair to be falling out? I think it's hormonal though wasn't as bad when I used to be on the pill! Hormones eh!! :o

Will try putting it in at night too will probably wake up with a huge bush of hair as I'm a bit of a fidgeter!

Out of curiosity does the spray come out brown on your hands for the superdrug one?

Dont even get me started on hormones:o:rotfl:we would need a forum to ourselves;) yes the superdrug one comes out brown and if you touch it before its dry you'll have brown hands, just remembered as well when you have a shower it runs out of your hair brown and the water looks gross:D if you fidget in bed (I do too) tie your hair up, I use a donut or if its long enough plait it, leave it down a good half an hour beofre your ready to go out so it can lay down, oh dear wavy/curly hair who'd have it?:)
