I'm putting together a gift box for my friend who is getting married next month, but I'm stuck for ideas for things to include. I want to include things 'essential' for newly weds, both novelty and useable! Any ideas greatly appreciated!

One of the best wedding gifts we got was a box containing a good selection of cleaning products, ie the sort of things which run away with the money when you first move into a new home. We got things like floor cleaning powder, window cleaner, washing up liquid and sponges etc and a selection of dusters, floor cloths, feather duster, scrubbing brush.
It was probably one of the most useful gifts we received as we had already bought things like sheets, towels etc whilst we were engaged (the old fashioned "bottom drawer").

I guess it depends on whether they lived together first or not?
IF they have then it can be more fun stuff. Sainsburys have a chocolate bar thats about sharing once your married, its funny and cheap enough.

A good girlfriend of mine just got married and I bought her a new cookbook!
She loved it. It includes a wide variety of recipes for different cuisines. It's a fun way for the couple to cook together as well! :-) Maybe you could even buy some couple aprons as well.! 0 -
I like the idea of a recipe book but to make it more personal you could use a recipe file and add in some of your fav recipes (or ones you know the couple will like) and leave space for them to add their own. I posted on another thread but I know K TWO have got have a Facebook offer so you'll get a good deal on a recipe file from them - http://www.facebook.com/KTWOProducts0
