Wow DD I didn't even realise it was an old thread! The achievements you made in such a short space of time are fantastic and you should be so proud. :)

    Hi DD

Sorry from me too - didn't realise it was an old thread.

Like you say though it is great to look back and see how far you have come from back then.

I know, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw it. :rotfl:

I never look at the dates on posts either and end up making some right inapproriate comments after reading just the first page on a really long thread, not noticed it was posted a year ago. I start waffling on about stuff that was resolved at least 9 months earlier :o

    Hey well done.

Its taken me years swapping from on CC to another on no interest promotional cards but I got two cards paid off finally this year, and another almost there just £500 but we will pay that off soon, then the only debt is mortgage which has 20 years to go having just moved house.

Its taken us about 4 years of paying off, and the last few years we didnt even use the card, and I wouldn't say it was huge amounts we had borrowed just a few grand but with incomes being low it took us longer.

Its good to hear people being responsible and paying debts, I recognize it may be much harder for those who borrowed far more

p.s. just as one final defense of Mrs Dither's houskeeping money, before I leg it off to take the kids swimming...

Our youngest has Dyspraxia and so my wife spends a lot of her time driving from the speech therapist to children's occupational therapist, to the doctors, to the specialist and to swimming and other activities that help my 'lil one develop. It's almost a full time job and none of these places are close by so we use a load of petrol to get there. Plus my wife is an orphan so we just have my mum to babysit and generally take the load off my wife when she is down - because of my daughter's difficulties, we can't use firends or other babysitters and so my mum cops for a lot of it. Mum and Dad don't live too close either so again, we have to use a ton of petrol there too.

Also, we are still buying nappies even though my 'lil one is 5 and there are other associated costs that my wife bears in the houskeeping.

I know I joke about the "baying hellhound" that is my missus, but I love her dearly and don't want anyone to think that she's taking me for a ride, or is crap with money or has it easy.

Sorry, just really felt I needed to get that off my chest. Right off to the baths!!
