Job Grant

Hi all. My husband has at last got a job, albeit temporary but likely to be made permanent, after 8 months. Up to 5 January 2007 he was claiming JSA (C-B) but, because I work more than 25 houirs a week, from that date on he wasn't entitled to JSA (I-B) but had to sign on for his NI stamp every fortnight as usual. When he told the Job Centre last week he had a job and could he claim for the £100 Job Grant he was told he may not be eligible! Is that right? Surely, even though he wasn't actually receiving any money and we were TRYING to survive on my salary lone, he was still unemployed and signing on for his credits, so he should get the grant. Any advice gratefully received before we both go and put a bomb up the Job Centre's rear passage.....LOL
