Hi everyone,
i'm in the process of looking for a laptop for surfing the internet & playing dvd's / games.
therefore i'm looking for a bargain priced laptop.
i think the one below looks a good deal, but i'm willing to accept any advice and if possible a better alternative if anyone can point me in the direction of one.
let me know what you think.
thanks

No reliance should be placed on the above.

That is a good deal, only question is what is the build quality and reliabilty of this brand.0

Medion's not actually a bad make, though it's still an economy brand. Couple of downsides though - only has Vista Basic which doesn't have the eye-candy of Vista premium, probably because the graphics are minimal & it only has 512Mb of memory, part of which is shared. For the same sort of money (well £10 less) you can get this one: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0937821827.1171876015@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccceaddkeiefhfgcflgceggdhhmdfhk.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=773711&category_oid=-27751 from PCWorld which comes with slightly better processor, 1Gb memory and XP Media Centre (together with a free upgrade to Vista Premium, when they get it sorted)
Trouble is, there are a few cheap laptops around at the moment, but there are always corners cut somewhere (the PCWorld one only has a 60Gb drive). Personally, I'd hang on a bit longer & either wait for one of the Toshiba's to be on offer again or until I'd saved an extra £100 or so.0 -
