Hatton Garden for rings

I've been thinking about checking out Hatton Garden for some jewellery for my wedding. My engagement ring is rose gold and a quick look round the usual high street stores this afternoon suggests that rose gold isn't a popular choice at the moment (I love it). I also want to get some earrings to match my engagement ring - it's blue topaz, which there is quite a bit of in the shops, but again not in rose gold.

Has anyone used any of the shops in Hatton Garden to get a ring / other jewellery made, and if so would you recommend the store you used?

I know I am sure to find something somewhere there - it's just a bit daunting as there are so many shops to choose from and it's always nice to get feedback from someone has been there.

i haven't used hatton garden but we got our wedding rings from the lanes in brighton which i imagine is a similar type of place - lots of jewelry shops? you pick a style etc and they make it in whatever metal you like, or you can have one designed or bring your own design. we used a shop called Midas Touch, excellent service and price.

Yes, Hatton Garden is the London Jewellery quarter - has been since medieval times apparently.

There's meant to be over 50 shops there - hence the post - it's a lot of shops to visit to narrow down my choice :-). I work quite near there so it's a convenient place to go, but even so, 50 shops would consume a lot of lunch hours to visit them all.

Thank, yes I'd seen that, was just wondering if anyone on the forum had personal experience of any of the shops, good or bad.

I'll admit to being a bit lazy when it comes to research, plus all shops only portray themselves in a good light on their websites, doesn't give the full picture.

If I had the time I'd be inclined to go back to Florence to pick out a wedding band, go back to the shop my other half bought the engagement ring I picked out from. Guess I could try their on line website mind you... at least they would know the ring they were trying to match.
