Employer has lost my contract

My manager is trying to have my shift pay removed from salary, as far as I remember the shift pay was part of my contract so cannot be taken from me. My manager advised me to get a copy of my contract to confirm this, however on contacting HR they claim not to have a copy of it, unfortunately I do not have a copy either !!
There are two of us who are facing this problem and both our contracts have gone missing...suspicious ??!!??
Please could anyone tell me where I stand, this is a major blue chip company that have employed the pair of us for over 12 years...

Look for your contract again at home as you may have missed it by looking to fast. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0

Customary working practise - implied term.
How long have you been working this shift pattern?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

It's a bit complicated as we were tuped out of the company briefly for a year and then back in again, however we have been working the same hours since we were tuped back into our current company in March 2009 when we signed the new contract.
They are now saying that the hours we work are not valid for additional shift pay..the hours have not changed since we rejoined...0 -

I don't regard the TUPE issue as being particularly relevant tbh.
The employer will likely try and impose their will leaving you to make a decision to fight or accept the change.
Why are the shift payments being targeted - shift allowance for two individuals is unlikely to be a significant cost save?
Is the reduction going to impinge on pension entitlement?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

The payment is not included towards pension contributions. The company is reviewing all expenses etc..due to impending takeover bid.0
