Microwave steaming or electric steamer?

Afternoon All,

I am just wondering if anyone knows the most economical way of steaming veg. I normally do it in my electric steamer but I have found some microwave veg steam bags lurking in the back of the cupboard and it says the veg should take approximately 5 mins.

Which option do you think is the cheapest?

What power does the electric steamer use and how long does it take?

Same for the microwave.

You can buy microwave oven steamers which steam food. I saw one on the Sharp website while looking for a new microwave oven to replace my now defunct 25+ year old Sharp Carousel convection microwave. I am wondering whether there are any new microwaves which will last as long.
