Do you have to register and if so is our information sold on to any 3rd parties?
To save a snowball you have to register. This allows you to recall the snowball when you subsequently login to the site. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll have the option to save any snowballs you enter in the snowball calculator.
As zippy said, the registration process simply requires a username and password, nothing more. You can enter your email address if you wish, but that is optional (and is made clear that it’s optional). Entering your email address means that you can receive my newsletters (only been one so far, and that was today), and gives the option of other things I’m planning in the future.
Your email address will never be passed onto third parties, unless you sign up to the newsletter from the news page, and select the “email from our partners” option (which is off by default).
Hope this helps.

Hi Eupho and everyone else,
Thanks again for all your comments – Although I can feel my head starting to swell!
FYI, I've just added another feature which, if you register with the site and give it your email address (which, as I mention above, is optional), allows you to setup email "reminders", on a one-off, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. The idea is the site will automatically email you with the reminder when it's due, so you could use it to remind you when a 0% deal is up, or when a monthly bill is due, or when the car insurance is due etc. (Even the other-halves birthday or anniversary if you want!). It's in the "My reminders" area once you've logged in.
I've also (finally) added an "I've forgotten my password" option (I've been meaning to do that for a year!) – Of course that also assumes it knows your email address... It needs to know where to send it.
Cheers,
