Where do I start?

Hi everyone
Okay so seeking a bit of advice as I have no idea where to start. In 2008 I got a credit card with lloyds tsb for £1000. Then in 2009 I got a overdraft for £300. I then fell pregnant and had twins so could no longer work. I kept up repayments until my relationship started to break down and could no longer to afford. I was moving every 6 months so never heard anything about it until now... In Jan I reveiced a letter from Apex saying they were requested by there client to contact me to arrange payment of the outstanding balance (£1409). I ignored, then on the 5th of February I got another letter saying there client have now formally requested they commence proceedings and are being passed on to an external field agent who will arrange a home visit...
I also have an outstanding debt with Wescot with the other TBS account, they contacted me back in October saying my outstanding debt was £306 and have just received a new letter stating I owe £666!
Where do I start? My main worry is they turn up at the door and I crumble in to setting something up I can not afford. I don't work but I DO want to pay these debts off.

For a start send Apex this, as they have about as much power as my cat........
Dear Sirs,
Ref: XXXXXXXX
Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I have noted your repeated attempts to contact me over the past few weeks and these have been duly logged by time and date.
Furthermore, should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep visit”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make such an appointment with you.
There is an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v Sheppard & Short Ltd [1959] 2 QB 384. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and, if you do so, you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.
Yours faithfully,Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

I think it applies there as well.
Regarding Apex / Wescot threat of proceedings and litigation, it's the usual drivel they come out with to scare you. Only the owner of the debt can litigate and it sounds like Apex and Wescot are just agents at this time. They can litigate in strict conjunction with the oc, but it's VERY rare.Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
Thanks I will write a letter asap and get it sent off. The letter I received from wescot also had a break down of my new balance after court proceedings but that was the letter dating back to october so I am guessing that was another scare tactic. Can you advice of how I do go about paying this debt, do I contact tsb direct?0
