Recordable DVD's which are the best ones to buy?

Hi everyone, We've just purchased a DVD player which also records and would like to know, what are the best DVD R discs to use to record stuff off the telly? I've got some 4.7GB 8X discs but the recordings on them are very bitty, ie, it seems that the picture is stuttering when you play it back. Anyone have the faintest idea what i'm trying to say here? If you have, any advice muchly appreciated. thanks.

Never had any problem with Verbatim and Memorex DVD+R & +RWs personally.
A lot of people on here also speak highly of Verbatim disks0 -
What make is your player/recorder.
I buy my discs from here
They have a star rating dependant on use, film, game or music.

some players prefer DVD + discs and others DVD - and some can play either. Maybe you are using the wrong type for your recorder?0
