Any good steam generator iron deals?

Hi,
Iron's just blown up, so we're thinking of getting a steam generator type for the first time, so wondering if anyone knows of any good deals going at the moment.
The choice is very confusing.
Also if any of you already have one.............What do you think of them and are they worth it ?
Thanks

    Hi,

have you thought about a steam press iron ?

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-7302.aspx

I bought this one last year for £149 and it is fab, its now reduced to £99.
We have a small B & B in Cornwall and it has cut down my ironing time by half.

A quick check on "Shopping.com" shows that an online store has a steam station for sale at £44-99 with free postage. I haven't used this store myself so it's "Buyer Beware" time. Thought it might interest you though.
P.S. My wife and daughters swear by theirs.
  • My mother had the Aldi one that cookiemonster25 was talking about and yes it was a good iron and did take a while to heat.

However they have a newer model(same make) for sale today at £49.99

I purchased one this morning and all i can say its Fantastic completly different from the old model heats up straight away.

Ive just emptied my ironing basket in a flash what a pleasure to use
comes with 3 years warranty excellent value for money.

hope this is usefull for others looking to buy.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Had one of these for a couple of years now. Bought from Costco and paid about £100. Would never use a normal iron again as my ironing time has been reduced by so much. All I can say is it was money very well spent.

Tesco's have one in their stores at the moment for about £49.99. I think it is Morphy Richards. I bought one from Tesco direct about a year ago and it broke within the guarantee period. They refunded no bother, but they were changing suppliers or something so they couldn't replace it. I bought a Tefal one from argos for £100 more cos I missed it so much. Then these turned up in Tesco last month. I think I was just unlucky with the fault, the steam pump I think.
Just looking to save a few pennies here and there

My cleaner doesn't think they're worth it - she uses them at various homes, she complains they're too heavy and not much different to ordinary irons. Just as well she spoke was about to buy one for her... :)

Oh and they're in Aldi at the moment. the brand is Delta which is De Longhi and they have a 3 year warranty, cost £50.
  • Thanks folks, off to Aldi to see if they have any!

Yep I seen the Aldi offer. I have had mine for about 3 years now and love it. I find it lihter than a normal iron as the part with the water in it stays on the floor or board. It certainly cuts down my ironing time too - Wouldn't be without it now!
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:
