Hope I don't get in trouble with the Mods but I just HAD to share this with someone - and you never know it may be useful to someone too.
From a Pet Planet email:
New To Our Shop - Purrforma Plus Litter Appliance
The Purrforma is a fully automated litter care system. It works by using infrared sensors to detect when a cat enters and leaves the unit. After an adjustable delay, it quietly rakes the clumps into a large-capacity box and seals away waste and odors in a disposable bag. When the waste box bag is full, simply remove the odor-proof, easy-tie bag and drop it in the bin. Features include a washable carpeted ramp, storage compartment and a replaceable liner.
Only £199.99
If it was April 1st I wouldn't have believed it!

Our moggie -female- absolutely stinks the place out when using her tray ... it is foul ... tried different diets and brands of litter as well as charcoal filters in the tray lid etc, ... nothing works, so on just a cursory look, would be interested in this kind of product as it looks to contain odours [there's been loads of similar style ones over the years] ... but they always look overcomplicated and too much like hard work .... easier to clean the tray daily ... only takes 2 min.
hope it helps.Learn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:

I did a bit of research into these as I wanted to get a cat....looks like the biggest complaint people had was that this thing makes an absolute racket when it starts raking. Apparently it's loud enough to wake people up, and can scare the cat so much that it won't want to use the machine again.
Think I'll hold off until they can make a quieter one.

Yes but is it as wierd as those toilet training things that get your cat to sit on the REAL toilet and do his business where people do? Eventually disposing of cat litter entirely!!
http://www.scoopnomore.com/ for the strangest video yet
Petplanet also do similar concept but it doesn't have the video to show the concept in action (and I can't find it again)“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0
