How old are the children...
I would suggest that you try to avoid colouring pens unless its at a designated table without a cloth on...pen and white table cloths dont reall mix
how about bubbles...although again be a little careful or mindful of the mixture around all that lovely wedding dress material as it can stain
A few sweets always go down well...how about love hearts to tie into the theme of the day
Another good idea is actually disposable cameras ...or cheap digital ones if the budget runs to it....its amazing what pics the kids come up with ...we went to a wedding a few years ago where my son was the pageboy...he was given a digital as his present and then proceeded to act as the unofficial photographer for the day...with really good candid results
I've also seen a variation where there were a set of instructions for the kids to do a scavenger hunt and things like take a picture of the olest guest...get a pic of a kiss etc...or if you give them a bag they could have instructions like collect a piece of confetti, a leaf or a flower ...that sort of thing ....so if your children are above 5 or so or there are some older ones to help that may be an optionfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Not sure about the daytime, but our band brought inflatable guitars to the evening reception and I've never seen such happy children. Who knew?!0

I plan to do something like this (bespoke printed bags from eBay for about £2.50 each, though you could get plain ones for much cheaper):

I'm keeping the contents relatively cheap by filling each with a home-made activity book like this one.
And crayons, stickers and a small toy from Net Price Direct (about £1.50 per child).
Plus, for the children over 5, a disposable camera (£3 from eBay) and an eye spy card like this one:
I'll also pop in some bubbles (50p each) and a small bag of sweeties (though am toying with dried fruit as a healthier sweet option).
The total average price for mine is £7. Hope that helps!0 -
generally between 3 and 5 and 2 that would be at most 1 and half£18 for my old mobile.

The only problem with sweets is that (after being to a few weddings recently) do you want kids who are hyper on sugar screaming and running around during the speeches?0

sugar causing hyperactivity within children is now a well known myth

if you are concerned though then healthy snacks can still be fun such as fruit leathers, packets of sultanas and dried fruitsThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50
