Moorcroft: blind or stupid or both?

I had a small debt with NPower from when I left them for BG. The amount was £79 originally and I offered them £5 a month. Before they could accept their collections dept passed it to Moorcroft. having previous experience with these morons I asked NPower to take the debt back but they said they couldn't so I was left dealing with Moorcroft
I offered them the same, and they accepted. Each time they sent a letter it still had the £79 as balance outstanding. I wrote twice to tell them the real balance but I don't think they ever got it right. I have paid them £60 in total so far.
Today I get a letter from Past Due Credit Solutions (never heard of them before) for the same debt with a balance of £59
I have written to PDCS suggesting they contact Moorcroft and telling them I will continue to pay £5 a month for 3 months with a final payment of £4 in the last month. I have all my bank statements, listing all the payments I've made to Moorcroft so I feel confident that there's not much they can do.
I'm not sure who is trying to pull a fast one, N Power, Moorcroft or the new bunch.
Has anyone got any experience of Past Due? Are they likely to be sensible (probably not)?
