If it's Adsense based, Google will pay it directly into your bank account, or issue a cheque.

thanks, i'd always wondered how it worked cos i couldn't imagine each advertiser paying.

I've recently finished building my first website using Prestashop. It took me tens of hours as I'm a complete beginner. I didn't need to learn HTML as Prestashop is quite user friendly. The good news is that the actual website cost nothing to build, although my results are a little amateurish (as it's a 'first try'). I think it's one of those things that will continue to evolve.

You can google Pretashop to look at what they offer (you need to pay for some of the themes). I'd recommend it if you want to sell items, as a traditional shop would. You can visit my website if you'd like to see my amateurish, but free effort!

Hello, how have people managed to monetize with wordpress? I thought the user terms stated that you weren't allowed to, but is that specifically related to adsense or similar?

I would love to monetize my wordpress blog.
  • Vanpiggy, there's a book called 'Building a Business, Not a Blog' and you can download it free from here:

I started reading it myself, and it looks good. I just don't have the time to commit to starting a blog.

So many deluded people in this thread.

Making an income you can live off from a website takes YEARS unless you have a fantastic idea
  • The way I started out was to complete this course.
Type this into Google (I am not allowed to paste links)
"Ed Dale The Challenge", and go to the site.

It is training at it's best for a newbie, totally A-Z and the only outlay is a domain name and hosting.
The only thing I did differently is I used Wordpress.org to build my site and not Wordpress Direct as suggested in the course.

But to make money from it takes time.

I started in 2009. My 'niche' is seasonal and during summer last year I was earning £120 in adsense revenue a month. Plus sales from Amazon and Clickbank.....

At the moment I get around £2 per day from 1 site, and I have 6.

It's not much but better than nothing!

I do not get anything for recommending this site, so I can't be accused of spamming!!
