Vting a car

hi there,

i have a focus 2006 1.6 car which i brough in march 09 and was made redundant a few years ago and was wondering if its worth Vting to get my bills and that down and out the way so to speak. i only owe £3100 which is way over the 50% mark to do this but i have had things done to the car like rear window tints, cat back exhaust, upgraded ford stereo will i be penilized for this?? its all in excellent condition seats need a shampoo and some stone chips on the car but thats from the age really. just wondered what options are as running out of funds to keep paying it for example.

thanks in advance

  • As long as you have never missed a payment, you should be ok to VT the car. As long as the vehicle hasn't been trashed there shouldn't be a problem.

Removing window tints take about 10 minutes(they just peel off), as does cleaning the car seats.

    :rotfl:

Sorry mate, that made me chuckle!

In other news, you shouldn't have any problems from what you're saying, assuming it's accurate.

    Best of luck
  • have missed a few payments due to issues with changing over banks etc but have alwasy paid it about a week late and this has been 3 times and am unemployed for past 3 months so think its in everyones bests interests to go this route........

engine has got a slight clicking/knocking noise but have been told by 3 garages this is all fine and just wear and tear and it will have new mot and tax but mid march time
  • If you have missed payments, then you have broken your contract with the loan company and they are within their rights to refuse to allow you to VT the agreement. See other threads on this Forum.

There was a chap recently who successfully challenged the refusal to VT after falling into arrears. Not a tremendously pleasant chap but did make a good post about it.

There are many many more though who have been refused the VT option once in arrears.

Love it, one careful lady vicar owner then?

Removing at cat from the car surely will cost 100$$$$$ to put right?
