my meter kept going forwards, even when exporting! I phoned them last week, Southern Electric, and they're coming out today to replace.... no mention of any charge. I'll be asking if I have a choice of meter but I think it'll just be a straight swap for something that supports micro generation.
4kW PV System installed 21/2/12: Aurora Power One 3.6 Inverter
    11x 250w panels West; 5x 250 panels East.
On course for 19.8% ROI in Year 1.
    Immersun installed 13/9/12

    Is it a Siemens meter?

Some of these are 'too' clever! To avoid tampering they record all energy irrespective of direction.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

    Mmmmm.......
I had my meter changed cos the old one ran backwards when generating solar.
Had a few months where the meter rans backwards but then I could not put my meter readings on Scottish Power online cos they where less than the previous ones !!
A new meter was fitted at my request & no charge was made.
Now I never thought to check this angle......
I presume that my new meter should just stop going forwards when generating solar & say turning on a kettle or some other device ???
    Must check............

Yes... it was a Siemens S2AS-100. I got the full picture from a post on this forum, which was very useful.

Just had the new meter installed. A mechanical one rather than digital but at least it's not counting up when we generate and it has a faint green light to show it, rather than pulsing red like the old one did!

Just need to make a claim now. :-)
