They've said she wont actually receive her travel expenses!
She's working approx. 3.5 hours per day at £7.25 p/h, which isn't alot once you take her petrol money (£10 per day) out of this!
Just doesn't seem right her not receiving her petrol money back, surely all that petrol money doesn't pay her tax, as she isn't doing many hours.

Technically under HMRC rules she isn't entitled to mileage and after 16 years of working for agencies I don't know anyone who got their travel to work paid unless it was out of the area as a one off - out of the area being classed as more than 30 miles. Certainly 20 miles each way is not unreasonable.

And what is she driving that uses £10 of petrol to do 40 miles? Even something like 2 litre petrol Mondeo wouldn't use that much.

And I don't understand why you think she should be entitled to be reimbursed for travelling to work.

My thoughts exactly. I used to drive 44 tonne wagons and they'd only cost £20 to do 40 miles.
