Hi There,
I have recently apllied to a very poular hotel chain and successfuly got through the first interview, and will be attending a second one shortly. The only problem is I have never worked in a hotel before. I have worked with the public using a till in various jobs but thats about it.
I obviously said I have worked in a hotel in the past and thats how I got to were I am now. I have a freind of a freind who works in a hotel and has allowed me to put them as a refference so thats covered. But I was just wondering if anyone could offer me any advice of questions I may be asked, possibly someone who works in a hotel? I'm just worried about if I get asked something and I don't know what it is. I think if I am successful it won't take me long to adjust in the job as I am a very quick learner.
Can anyone advise me of any tricky questions I may get asked. My biggest fear is if they ask me something and I don;t have a clue what they are talking about.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You might be asked what kind of computer programs you had in use for check in/out, reservations, how bills were produced, what the safe handling procedures were - that's a sample of questions that could be asked if you are going to be working on front desk.0

I genuinely wanted to help, being a hotelier, until I saw this was blatant lying.
why not be honest, you might still have had a chance.
Someone lied to us in a big recruitment drive recently, but they were discovered so no job offer. The hotel management world is very small, even the global brands - and lying does not work, you get found out and blacklisted!!!!0 -

yes, I agree, all relevant - and the best CVs already would know this and have the relevant software applications which are unique to hotels - and experience of SOPs on the cv.0 -
I can't believe it seems we are the only ones who noticed thatI genuinely wanted to help, being a hotelier, until I saw this was blatant lying.
