Can I get refund for rubbish goods sold by door-to-door seller from the manufacturer?

Okay, okay, I know I probably shouldn't have bought anything from a cold caller! But I did - a 'Non Slip Flexi Mat' for kitchen chopping, manufactured by Neat Ideas Ltd. I found as soon as I tried it (when the guy had long gone, and no - no receipt) that it was useless and slipped all over the place.

I have kept the packaging and can prove it's not of satisfactory quality or as described or fit for purpose - so am I entitled to a refund from the manufacturer? Sorry if this has already been answered a thousand times here - it's my first post, be gentle!!

Well, there's absolutely nothing to stop you trying - you never know, you might drop lucky.

But if you mean is the manufacturer legally liable to refund the price that you paid, the answer is no - your contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer.

Welcome to the forums anyway :-)

Edited to add - unless there is some sort of manufacturer's money back guarantee if not satisfied on the box?
