I stand corrected on this one then....
....but, it is what I was taught many years ago; probably before
"Ms" existed.
Also, some women particularly dislike it's use - although this could all be avoided by correct and full information given in the first place - it's all well and good being modern and casual (esp. in/via email), but the poor applicant can't figure out what to do for the best in these cases.

A pen? I don't think I have a pen anywhere in my house. I've got those short bookie pens with hardly any ink. Will they do?
I wouldn't apply for the position. My handwriting is atrocious. I can barely read it myself and I'm the one who wrote it.:footie:
