Moorcroft and Orange bill

Hi
Wondering if someone on here could help!
My boyfriend had an orange contract last year that ended in November 2011. For whatever reason he didn't realise that the last four months of his contract (august - november) did not come out of his bank so when he ended the contract he received a letter from Orange asking for £143.24 to settle the balance. He tried to pay it over the phone in November but couldn't because the number had been disconnected the woman on the phone couldn't find his account.

He forgot about it (stupidly) and then a letter came from Moorcroft Debt Recovery asking for £310.86. We've sent letters asking to prove why he owes this much and they keep sending letters back saying that he owes that much in unpaid bills. We've also checked his credit report which also says that he only owes £143.24 to Orange. We have tried to ring orange to pay them direct but keep getting put through to an automated line that asks for the orange phone number, but because it has been disconnected, it is not recognized! We have searched the internet looking for a number but not been successful!

Today Moorcroft have sent another letter through Midas Credit Services entitled 'Litigation Warning' saying he needs to contact them to set up a repayment agreement before the 21/02/12.

Is there anything we can do so that he only pays what he owes and not double the amount?? Does anyone have a number that gets us straight to someone at Orange and not the automated line?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried going into an orange shop.

I had a similar problem trying to talk about my phone one day after it was cut off. I kept re entering it and ending up through to an overseas call centre. After a lively discussion I got put though to collections.

    Hope this helps
