Help with tax and benefit (maternity leave)

Hi,

After our child was born last May, my wife is about to go back to work April this year.

She got paid full monthly salary for the first 6 months and the following months the monthly pay out started reducing. For the final 3 months of her maternity leave she wont be paid anything.

Are we entitled to any benefits or tax reliefs for the months she receives nothing?

Thanks in advance.

I will pass on the benefits - as not my forte. But - I assume she is still on payroll - so she should get tax refunds automatically through pay for (at least) the final 3 months. Her personal allowance (Code 747L?) is allocated monthly. So it will inevitably create some slack. Assuming that hasn't already been fully taken up (did she get refunds - or just pay less?) with the reduced pay after 6 months.
