Hey JayCarter
I'm liking your excitement!!!
You'll find the cash system so much easier. I prefer to lift the cash from the bank once a week, means then that the money is in the bank for as long as possible getting me interestWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
I do this too except I use plastic tubs from poundland.
I find them easy to stack and more practical than envelopes, I like the neatness of them in the cupboard and the fact I can label them.
I have some for housekeeping, petrol, lunches, etc
I suspect I may have mild OCD tendancies.:D

I have one of those budget cards for the car tax but having just decorated the bedroom I have now found £40 of post office stamps. Does anyone know if I can get a refund on them?
could try ebay? maybe someone buying up lots cheaply until they have enough to justify the postage costs to post office head office??LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
What bank accounts are best to gain interest if using a bank account rather than envelopes?
In case anyone is interested in the answer to the question I asked previously, a fellow MSE user said they use Intelligent Finance as it allows you to create a maximum of 8 "Savings jars" and pays 2.49% AER gross variable. :money:

I do the savings account thing (lloyds online banking) and have accounts for car stuff, Christmas, holiday, maternity leave fund, general, etc. Works really well for me to keep things separate.
This week is my first week of cash withdrawal and I am finding it tough!!! Will persist though and in a couple of months I hope to be doing monthly withdrawal. I love the pot / envelope idea - thanks!Sealed Pot Challenge - No. 117
