Hi I stupidly borrowed from wonga last april and have been in the PDL cycle ever since, I currently owe £1378.94 and have finally realised i am not able to get out of it. After reading the threads etc on here i have a coule of questions for those that have had sim liar exoeriences.
1) Currently the payments are taken out of a joint account, I have a single account with the same bank and have arranged for my slary to be paid to my single account. I have never paid wonga out of my single account - can the bank move funds from my single account to the joint account to pay wonga?
.
2) I am in a dmp and am trying to add wonga to this however they need a reference number which i dont have - how can i get the reference number? Is there an email address that anyone has as i would rather not call them.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

Wonga is all done online - try and log in to your Wonga account online. If you can't just do the 'forgot details' thing - your reference will be a short 6 digit number on your online account somewhere.SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000

Who are you in a DMP with?
Did your DMP start before you took out the first payday loan?
Yes the bank could offset funds from an account in your name to pay off an unauthorised overdraft in a joint account (overdraft after they've paid wonga). If the other party to the joint account has another account with the same bank then they could take funds from their account as well).
If you want to set up a repayment plan with wonga then you'll first need to make it impossible to get money from you direct. So that will mean opening a new bank account with an unconnected bank and closing/emptying your accounts with the current bank.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks I have my reference number now i also have an email address if anyone needs it in the futre, i couldnt find it anywhere on their website, its customercare@wonga.com
Thanks for the info on the ac!!!!s but i am going to risk it, i am on such a basic bank account with lloyds they do not allow any unauthorised overdrafts at all. My ploan is with pay plan0 -
From reading on these forums I think lloyds are one of quicker banks to use offsetting.
Payplan advise that people entering a DMP switch all there banking to an completely unconnected bank to any that you owe money to or owe payday loans from.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
