Hi WIC
My partner does Tai Chi for stress got a video online for £2 and does it in the evenings
I tend to bottle my stress with 2 job and 3 kids I am distracted from it mostly - I used to go in the kitchen and cry while I was cooking and no-one was there
I think you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself - can you grab half an hour in the day for yourself? even if its just for a long soak in the bath or reading or something?

Good call.
The Lumie lightboxes aren't cheap, but Amazon do some good ones.
You need around 2500 lux to replicate a bright day in the UK. I've got a 10,000 lux one (that's my Lumie one) and then I do have some daylight bulbs too, these are a lot cheaper but are probably just a bit of a top-up - unless you're under them all day like I was at my last job. This company sells them: http://www.nulight.co.uk/
You'll find the 10,000 lux lights ridiculously bright when you first start. I could barely be in the same room as mine at first :rotfl: That's when you realise how dark life is during the winter months!

My Dad mentioned the lights sometimes as he thinks I (and indeed he) suffer from SAD. It's certainly true that, as a general rule, I find thing harder to cope with during the darker months. I'd certainly give the lights a try.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Oh yes, and yesterday's sunshine made me think of this - if it's ever bright and sunny, force yourself to get outside in it for a while. It all helps :-)

Hey Camuk,
Did you have a look at the lightboxes??

Unfortunately I turn to food which I am trying to cut down doing now that I have realised.
Excercise is such a good stress buster. It releases any anger or tension and leaves you feeling calmer and refreshed afterwards, Excercise is now prescribed by some GP'f to treat depression and I have a freidnd whose dose of anti depressent was decreased after she took up excercise as the excercise releases a similar chemical.
A brisk walk in the sunshine is the best. Doenst have to be sprinting about or going to the gym. Enjoy the peace and the fresh air and the sunlight is good for the mood. lack of vitamin d can make you feel down and the sun gives you a boost of it. plus its free !0
