One stop shop or a bit from each store?

Thanks for your thoughts everyone - I think I will have to give the 3 stop shop a go next time and see how it goes - I am really bad at doing one big shop anyway, our cupboards and freezer are crammed and yet when I go to get the few things we need most days - milk etc, I end up buying lots more as does my partner. Partner is fussy too so whereas I will eat something to use it up, he will only eat what he fancies on any given day regardless of what is about to go off. He likes what he likes too and he shops in a hurry so its usually the more expensive mid shelf he grabs at (a supermarkets dream customer!) but he did say that when I went to Aldi ages ago their chicken and veg frozen pies were the best frozen pies hes had - much more filling that the big brands. And I remember finding the veg and fruit to be good quality. I also like the baked beans (Im not a fan of Heinz beans). I know Homebargains is good for tea, coffee, buscuits and Pepsi - Huggies pullups often only £3. I've never been big on Tescos always found it expensive - Sainsburys has many more deals and its less manic usuallu but suppose also less choice. I only go to Tesco Express for Face Cleansing Wipes (69p) and they are the only brand that doesn't irriate my sensitive skin and Tescos own babywipes as they are stupidly cheap (about 50p I think) but work well.0

Hi
I suppose I do shop all over the place but I'm not convinced its the cheapest option for me at least. As because I go into lots of different shops its easier to be tempted with the impulse buys so end up buying things you don't really need.

This year I have been buying fruit/veg at the local greengrocer and meat from the local butcher. I still have to go to Morrisons most weeks to buy other bits and pieces, but I now go with a list and buy only what I want without going up and down each aisle.
I think it's the not going up and down each aisle that is saving me money, as less things fall into my basket/trolley. I wouldn't say I was saving money going to the butcher, though I'm finding fruit/veg much cheaper at the greengrocer.
It doesn't really take me any more time, than when I used to do one weekly shop at Morrisons, though I resent like hell having to pay $1 to park for 40 minutes, while I'm in town. :mad:marlasinger0
