Ccj on car

Hi ,
I have a Black horse loan on a car which stands at 3,500 at the moment it was originally 8000. For a year i payed a reduced amount due to my circumstances but eventually Black horse secured a CCJ to pay the full amount of 180 a month, if i dont pay the court oder says black horse can have the car. the car now has 195,000 miles and is not worth even 500£ many thinks are going wrong with it.
Basically i cannot use the car anymore as i drive all over the UK for a living, my father has got me a newer lower milage car and i pay him back whenever i can. If i return the old car to black horse would the court order still stand for the cash amount left? or is it just while i have possession of the vehicle? i was hoping that i can treturn the car and make an arrangment to pay off the balance at a reduced rate so i can pay my father any suggestion??

How long have you had the loan and how many payments have you made in relation to the balance of the loan.
There is a thread here about them not taking cars, but please note they will chase for the debt.0 -
As you have a CCJ already for the debt its a bit more complicated than otherwise.
They may agree to take back the car and sell it an auction for a small amount (which would then reduce the amount owed).
Does the judgement specifically state the installment amount? if so you'd need to continue to repay that amount, or if you could demonstrate you couldn't afford it then you could apply to the court to have the amount lowered (but the judge wouldn't take into account payments to your Dad when working out how much he thinks you could afford a month).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
