Moorgate Finance
Has anyone had any dealings with Moorgate Finance, they bought out Egg Loans about a year ago?
I am lucky enough to have only 1 more payment left with this god awful company and then I'm debt free.
By mistake in Dec 2010 I cancelled my direct debit to Egg so missed that payment. I contacted Egg in December to reset the direct debit, this was done by Egg in December but they failed to collect January's money, this situation occurred again in February. I contacted Egg in both months to notify them that they had not collected the dd.
They said on both occasions that they had applied for the money but funds weren't available. I put them on to my bank who confirmed that the dd was live and that funds were available. By this point I owed 3 months at £341.28 and finally got March dd paid. By then I had agreed to pay this over the next 6 months march - august. I wasn't really concerned until 4th March 2010 I rang Egg to find out where my new payment schedule was as I had requested it in writing to find out the they had sold the loans dept to Moorgate who had no record of my payment agreement. I had the name of person, date and time recorded of this call and passed all this on with a copy of my phone bill included. I refused to pay the outstanding debt balance in 1 as they requested and cleared it on 1st August as the schedule dictated without a payment being missed. Every month on the 2nd of the month I receive a letter from them telling me that my account is in arrears, this is followed by an average of 8 phone calls and messages a day to my home and mobile number. This all seems odd as the payment isn't due until the 5th and leaves my account on 1st. This has then continued every month since.
I have been lucky enough to have put extra money a side to pay this off 6 months early, what I want to know is do I send all of my
harassment/arrears paperwork to the FSA by way of a formal complaint or do I let it go. They don't know I am paying it off early but cant wait to be smug on the phone. DD cancelled on 1st Feb?
Advice welcome please.

I had an egg loan now with Moorgate.
Did you check your credit report as I would think it will have late payments on it.
Write Moorgate a formal complaint sent signed for. Tell them what you want them to do to putti right. I would go for removal of adverse info from credit file if applicable, compensation for your time and costs and anything else you think is fair.
They no doubt bought the loans at a cheap price so they should also deal with Eggs and their poor service
If you dont like their final response, you can refer to FOS which will cost them £500 and their time.:beer:0 -
